CONDUCTOR
In addition to his conducting career, Frédéric Chaine is a professional jazz violinist. Since 2019, he has been captivating audiences at The Music Village, a well-known jazz club based in Brussels. In 2021 and 2022, Frédéric Chaine was invited to perform with his quartet by the Opéra du Grand Avignon, where he returned in October 2025 to share the stage with the renowned guitarist Sébastien Giniaux.
He has also given concerts for Le Senghor, the Rotary Brussels-Vésale, the Cercle Royal Artistique et Littéraire de Gand, the Automne Jazz Rendez-vous, and the Citizens’ Garden Concerts organized by the European Parliament.
Frédéric Chaine has collaborated with jazz artists such as Florin Niculescu, Sébastien Giniaux, Frédéric Borey, Wajdi Riahi, Vilmos Csikos, Daniel Jonkers, Basile Rahola, and Boris Schmidt.
In September 2020, he released his first jazz album, “De Bruxelles à Lausanne, Ballade Improvisée”, featuring international jazz violin star Florin Niculescu.
Influenced by Stéphane Grappelli and Florin Niculescu, Frédéric Chaine masterfully blends his classical background with jazz improvisation. He studied classical violin at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel in the class of Yuzuko Horigome and has been mentored by Miroslav Roussine.
