CONDUCTOR
Founded in 2022 by Frédéric Chaine, the Ensemble Orchestral Européen is a chamber orchestra dedicated to promoting European musical talent and introducing classical music to a wide audience.
Through arrangements by its music director Frédéric Chaine, the ensemble presents educational concerts and innovative jazz performances with orchestra. Based in Brussels, the ensemble is primarily composed of graduates from the Royal Conservatories of Belgium.
Frédéric Chaine creates educational concerts for young audiences with his ensemble. Over the past few years, he has conducted “Mozart fait son show”, “L’Apprenti Sorcier” and “La Flûte enchantée” in cultural centers across Brussels, performing for a total audience of 3,500 children.
The Ensemble Orchestral Européen and the Orchestra of the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel collaborated for the world premiere of Vieuxtemps’ “Fantasy for Violin, Voice, and Orchestra”.The first performance of the Fantasy with orchestra took place on March 30, 2025, at Saint-Remacle Church in Verviers.
In April 2025, the ensemble invited renowned jazz violinist Florin Niculescu for the premiere of the concert “Tribute to Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli” at the Brussels Bourse.
Blending classical and jazz music, the program presented works by the legendary duo, arranged by Frédéric Chaine for string orchestra and jazz quartet.
Since its inception in 2022, the Ensemble Orchestral Européen has been invited by Sint-Jan Berchmanscollege and various cultural centers in Belgium, including Le Senghor, Centre Culturel d’Uccle and Centre Culturel de Verviers. Under Frédéric Chaine’s direction, the ensemble has also performed at the music festival “Les Rendez-vous Musicaux” for two consecutive years and was honoured by an invitation from the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union to perform at the Palais d’Egmont in Brussels in 2024.
